Bruce Nauman’s Stadium Piece is a white-tinted concrete structure thirteen feet high, twenty-five feet wide and fifty feet long. Its stairs and raised supports suggest a place to watch from; climbing and occupying it is the subject.

The work

At a distance it reads as a single outline; up close it breaks into stairs, supports and the void underneath.

Before you go

The steps can be climbed where permitted; the work is complete when seen from the ground.
